TCoE is today a red ocean and providers like us will have competition from various other players in the market. Over and above, one significant source of competition is the mindset of prospects who will weigh the option of ‘Build Vs. buy’.
Gone are the days when software testing was seen at bottom of the value chain. As new technologies come into play, the testing team will require time and training to use testing applications effectively. Today, because of the change in mindset this is seen by business as no different than a developer needing time to understand new technologies before taking advantage of them in development.
Certain items such as test estimation techniques, resource planning and test automation are worthy of much further guidance.
As such, PCI compliance is often perceived by some organizations as something that is a valueless and externally mandated one-time activity. To many it is a burden, consuming resources they would rather spend on other efforts. At the same time, many other organizations have effectively launched security programs around DSS or have expanded their security programs using DSS. So which is it: shackle or launch pad?
